Jerry and his wife Pat, opened Casteel Auction & Real Estate in 1979 and earned his auctioneer license that same year. He received his real estate license in 1984 and has been deeply involved in the industry ever since. For years, Jerry, Pat, Ryan, and their crew spent weekends at the auction house in Whitewood.
Jerry has served on the forms committee for the South Dakota Real Estate Commission and is an expert in all aspects of real estate. He loves his family and enjoys watching rodeo and following his grandkids’ activities.
Jerry has spent his career serving his community and helping the people in it.

Ryan and his wife, Keri, own and operate a commercial cow/calf ranch east of Sturgis, along the Belle Fourche River. He’s an avid hunter and loves the outdoors. Ryan is a retired rodeo cowboy and enjoys following the sport and cheering on local cowboys and cowgirls.
Ryan specializes in ranch and farmland sales. He has worked alongside his father, Jerry, for as long as he can remember and knows what it takes to match the perfect buyer with a seller. Ryan knows the land and is an expert in land sales, including auctions and listings.
If he’s not showing a property or working on the ranch, you can find him spending time with family, friends, hunting, or enjoying the great outdoors.

Keri is a proud wife, mom to three girls, and “Grammy” to one grandson. Alongside her husband, Ryan, she enjoys helping on their cattle ranch and spending time in the saddle. A lifelong sports fan, Keri loves cheering on their daughters and supporting local youth athletes.
She’s passionate about the outdoors, enjoys traveling, and is always up for a new adventure. In addition to ranch life, Keri serves her community as an EMT and finds great fulfillment in volunteering. A fourth-generation-cattlewoman, she has deep roots in ranching and a strong love for the land and the lifestyle it represents.

Pat has worked alongside Jerry, helping build Casteel Auction & Real Estate, for nearly 50 years. She serves as the Office Manager and takes care of all the behind-the-scenes details that keep the business running smoothly and successfully.
Pat has been a 4-H leader for over 30 years and served on the Meade County Senior Citizens Center Board for 11 years, where she remains an active member.
She also serves on the Hospital Auxiliary Board and is an active member of the St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Sturgis.
Pat and Jerry are true cornerstones of the community. Pat has been involved in more volunteer efforts than one could imagine and has cashiered and clerked more auctions than anyone could ever count.She loves her family and enjoys crafting, crocheting, sewing, gardening, and a good game of cards. Her crocheted creations can even be found for sale at the Hospital store. Pat proudly operates a shuttle service for her grandchildren—and couldn’t love it more!
